Paula Patton (born in 1960) is an American actress. She also has produced films, including Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol. As a child with her family in Los Angeles with a middle-class mother, Patton had many dreams. Her mother loved films, and she instilled the love of movies in the girl. Paula was active in her school's co-curricular activities and especially captivated by drama. She loved being in stage shows along with her peers. She acted in many performances at the high school of Hamilton Magnet Arts High School and then decided to pursue acting as a career. She was enrolled in The University of Southern California's Summer program and enjoyed the experience to death. The program was an award for a PBS three-month project to film documentaries. The first assignment was to be an assistant to production for TV documentaries, after completing her project. In the following years, she transitioned to produce documentaries. Although she was awed by the work, she was aspired to become an actress. She began her acting career by playing a minor part in the film romantic comedy Hitch with Will Smith. In the years since, she has been in a variety of film and TV series.
